It seems that this season will be
a great one for Susan Stroman. Two new musicals on Broadway, BIG FISH and BULLETS
OVER BROADWAY, and now a workshop was announced.
This last one its call THE LAST
TWO PEOPLE ON EARTH: AN APOCALYPTIC VAUDEVILLE and once again Stroman is
directing and choreographing. This fully staged workshop presentation will be
present at The Abrons Arts Center in New York and it’ll star Mandy Patinkin and
Taylor Mac, with music direction by Paul Ford.
This is how the press notes
describe this new work “It’s the end of the world as we know it," A flood
of biblical proportions leaves us with only two people on Earth, who discover
their common language is song and dance. Together they chronicle the rise and
fall, and hopeful rise again of humankind, through music that runs the gamut
from Rodgers & Hammerstein and Stephen Sondheim all the way to R.E.M. and
Queen."
Abrons Arts Center is located at
466 Grand Street, on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Tickets can be purchased by
calling (212) 352-3101 or visiting www.abronsartscenter.org.
